Supporting System

Supporting equipment attached to a series of Blow Out System (BOP System) includes choke and kill manifold line.

• Choke Manifold. Choke Manifold is a collection of fittings with some outlets are controlled manually or automatically. Work on the BOP stack with “high presure line” is called “Choke Line”. When turned on the choke manifold to help keep the back pressure in the drill hole to prevent the intrusion of formation fluid. Drilling mud to flow from the BOP stack to a number of valve (which restrict the flow and go directly to reserve pits), mud or mud-gas separator conditioning area of back pressure is maintained until the drill hole can be controlled again.
• Kill Line. Kill Line works on BOP Stack is usually the opposite took place with the choke manifold (and the choke line). Heavy mud is pumped through the kill line drill into the mud until the mud hydrostatic pressure can counterbalance formation pressure.
